She has been a nurse since 2013 and a nurse practitioner since 2018. Jen has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, a master’s degree in nursing from DePaul University, and a post-master’s degree in family practice from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She has worked in many diverse settings as a Nurse Practitioner including Holistic Medicine, Primary Care, Family Medicine, Community Health, Urgent Care, Mental Health, and Home Health. Jen’s training and experience has taken her as far as South America to very rural and impoverished areas of the US to major metropolitan areas, motivating her drive to provide access to high quality healthcare.
She has a special interest in integrative health and functional medicine. Her areas of focus are on gut health, adrenal function, thyroid health, mental health, cardiovascular protection, managing insulin resistance, chronic viral conditions, and reducing toxic burden. However, Jen also firmly believes in conventional medicine as well for certain conditions. She uniquely walks the line between both functional and conventional medicine.
Jen has completed all her functional medicine coursework through the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM), to better treat her patients while fixing the root causes of their conditions. She is in the final stages of completing her certificate in Functional Medicine through IFM. She will offer evidence-based options in optimizing your physical and mental health, while offering an overall sense of wellbeing and balance.
In her free time, you can find Jen in the garden growing fresh and healthy food for her family, friends, and neighbors while chasing around her little one.
